Saiiv and the healthcare system

Saiiv addresses the Triple Aims of Healthcare, with the goals of:

  • Improving the patient experience of care [including quality and satisfaction];

  • Improving the health of populations; and

  • Reducing the per capita cost of health care.

Research & Development is currently undergoing, on a range of products that transcend the gamut of health and medical needs from primary to tertiary care.

Products that work with individuals and the health care sector from basic health and wellbeing management through to end-of-life assistance.

Products designed to achieve a better experience for all throughout the journey.

“We focus on the big goals and as a result we can help make everyone’s health and lives better.”

Neil Anderson Co-Founder Saiiv

The impact of chronic diseases

Chronic disease is pervasive and on the increase:

  • Hypertension

  • COPD

  • Peripheral Artery Disease

  • Atrial Fibrillation

  • Heart Failure

  • Diabetes

  • Obstructive Sleep

  • Heart Attacks

  • Obstructive Sleep Apnea

As too is the cost, on the individual, the healthcare system and society.

  • The % of GDP for all civilized countries spent on healthcare continues to grow.

  • Chronic disease contributes to more than 70% of the disease burden - a figure expected to increase to 80% in the next few years.

  • 30% of adults have high blood pressure (HBP), up to 30% have a significant level of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), 15% have peripheral artery disease (PAD), 5% have atrial fibrillation (AF) and 4% have indications of heart failure (HF).

  • Many people have multiple comorbidities.

Saiiv plans to better manage, monitor and improve the prevalence of chronic disease in real-time, real-life situations, achieving better outcomes for all.

The scope of Saiiv

Recording of bio-signals such as respiration and cardiac activity are important in for diagnosis of disease and monitoring of health and wellbeing.

Existing clinical devices can be uncomfortable, obtrusive and impractical during normal activities of daily living.  Additionally, such devices only focus on a single or a very limited number of bio-signals at a time, and are not capable of instantly calibrating the accumulation of multiple signals simultaneously.

To address these issues Saiiv is developing a number of wearable devices embedded with Morphic Sensors. These Morphic Sensors detect and amplify electronics algorithms from across the body for the simultaneous and continuous monitoring of vital signs may detect cardiovascular hypertension, respiration monitoring, peripheral vascular competence.

Clinical trials are planned to evaluate Saiiv wearable devices with the aim of monitoring:

  • Hypertension

  • Respiratory Effort

  • Sleep testing

  • Respiration volume

  • Optional ECG

  • Electrodeless HR

  • Cardiac/Valve mechanical function

  • HR variability

  • Cardiac stroke volume

  • Blood flow

  • Respiration rate

  • Activity/Position

Morphic Sensors

Morphic Sensors are non-invasive, low power, low cost, sensor providing continuous monitoring of biorhythmic vital signs (bio-signals).

Currently available in two applications – elasticised bands or individual dots – Morphic Sensors are capable of delivering this data in real time or stored for subsequent cloud based reporting.

While other sensor systems require skin contact, are based on calibrated displacement sensors or are inductive sensors that are embedded in tightly fitted jackets/garments, Morphic Sensors are much less restrictive and vastly more flexible.

Designed to work in with peoples lives, Morphic Sensors can be placed in garments or furnishing to capture precise data all day, everyday in real life situations and climatic conditions.

This data is transmitted to SAIIV Central  where it is converted into clear, concise, useful information relating to a prescribed requirement and communicated back to the individual user or clinician as required.

How it works

Saiiv integrates AI, machine learning, and Morphic Sensors technology into comfortable, highly durable and unobtrusive wearable devices and accessories.

From simple sports enhancement to the management of chronic illness, Saiiv utilises its smarts to obtain exceptionally deep and precise biometric data, specific to individual users.

The advantage of AI is that data from large numbers of people is used to develop predictive tools regarding specific health events. Because we have a different "starting position" with different sensors that can measure different parameters means our AI algorithms are more powerful.

By moving advanced medical technologies from biased invasive clinical conditions to everyday situations, Saiiv has the potential to accumulate and analyse vast amounts of data that will change the way the world understands and works with chronic disease.

Saiiv Face

Morphic Sensors are non-invasive, low power, low cost, contactless sensor, unique in their ability to provide continuous monitoring of biorhythmic vital signs (bio-signals).

Currently available in two applications – elasticised bands or individual dots – Morphic Sensors are capable of delivering this data in true volume (i.e., mL).
